Interesting Facts about Eurovision Song Contest

German songwriter/composers Ralph Siegel and Bernd Meinunger took part  in Eurovision18 times.

Other great performers who have graced the Eurovision stage were Nana Mouskouri, The Shadows, Vicky Leandros, Olivia Newton John,, tATu, Mocedades, and Baccara.

When televoting suffers a malfunction, as it did in the 2003 Eurovision, the system depends on jury voting as a reserve measure. The Irish telecom, Eircom, was not operating normally and used a panel of judges. This set off a furious protest by the Russian act, tATu who threatened legal action against the Irish broadcaster, accusing them of intentionally causing the technical glitch in order to win the contest.
The allegations were denied by the Eircom. The 2003 winner was Turkey by Sertab Erener with the song, "Everyway that I can".
