Interesting Facts about Eurovision Song Contest

Eurovision has been broadcast throughout Europe, but also in Australia, Canada, Egypt, Hong Kong, Jordan, Korea, New Zealand and the United States!

It is rare for an entry not to receive any points in all, but it does happen. In fact, since 1978 there have been 15 entries with nul points, two of them in the same year - 1983, Turkey's "Opera" by Çetin Alp and Short Wave and Spain's "¿Quién maneja mi barca?" by Remedios Amaya.

There is still wrangling over which is the worst song ever of Eurovision Song Contest history. My bet is UK's entry, Jemini who sang "Cry Baby" in the 2003 Eurovision.

Six different voting systems were used over the past decades to pick the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Eurovision Song Contest was originally called "Eurovision Grand Prix", chosen by Francophone countries, that is, "Le Grand-Prix Eurovision de la Chanson Européenne"; Then the "Grand Prix" was replaced with "Concours"(contest).

Every day until May 8 I will be posting a music video of each one of the semi-finalists of the Eurovision Song Contest. On May 9, I will post the last three (my top favorites). Enjoy the videos!
