Interesting Facts about Eurovision Song Contest
Estonia won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2001 with the song Everybody.
Until 1998 Eurovision contestants were able to perform with a live orchestra, but in 1999 the rules were changed. Organizers decided not to provide an orchestra, and instead rely on an instrumental track, to be provided by the participants themselves. (A cost saving measure.)
The Esprit Arena has been the centre for all the hottest acts in the world. Artists who have performed there included Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Coldplay, Phil Collins, Depeche Mode, Fiction Plane, Genesis, Herbert Grönemeyer, Linkin Park, Madonna, The Police, The Rolling Stones and Die Toten Hosen, and many others.
Every day until May 8 I will be posting a music video of each one of the semi-finalists of the Eurovision Song Contest. On May 9, I will post the last three (my top favorites). Enjoy the videos!
