Interesting Facts about Eurovision Song Contest
The winner of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest was Lena of Germany. This year she defends her title on home turf - something only two people have done in the history of the contest.
Norway has finished at the bottom of the list ten times! Other Eurovision losers came came last in 1963, 1969, 1974, 1976, 1978, 1981, 1990, 1997, 2001 and 2004. Nevertheless, they also won three times in 1985, 1995 and 2009.
In 1971 Finland, Norway, Sweden and Portugal returned to Eurovision after a year of absence. They walked out in protest in 1969 because of the 1969 4-way winning tie. The four-tied winners were France, Spain, The Netherlands and The United Kingdom.
Every day until May 8 I will be posting a music video of each one of the semi-finalists of the Eurovision Song Contest. On May 9, I will post the last three (my top favorites). Enjoy the videos!
