Interesting Facts about Eurovision Song Contest
For the first time this year, Eurovision will have two semi-finals.
Serbia participated the first time in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest as an independent country and won the contest the same year.
This year’s Eurovision is to be held on the same day as the first one, on 24th May. The only time this has happened before was in 2003. The earliest Eurovision date was in 1957, on 3rd March and the latest was in 1999 when it was held on 29th May.
There is a rule that limits the number of performers to six.
The number of performers on stage
1 artist 11 times
2 artists 4 times
3 artists 1 time
4 artists 8 times
5 artists 12 times
6 artists 18 times
Every day until May 8 I will be posting a music video of each one of the semi-finalists of the Eurovision Song Contest. On May 9, I will post the last three (my top favorites). Enjoy the videos!
