Interesting Facts about Eurovision Song Contest
Eurovision represents a network of telecommunication channels, established in the 50s. Its purpose is to link public European TV stations thereby minimizing the costs of transmitting pan-European news and sports footage.
Riding high on the crest of popularity, the hot Irish duo Jedward have sold rights of their Eurovision entry 'Lipstick' for £500,000 to Hyundai who have planned to use the song track in their ads, which apparently will be featuring Leonardo Di Caprio. Unfortunately, we'll never get to see it as the commercial will be shown only in South East Asia!
Jade Ewen of the UK was last year's entry. Although she finished in only fifth place, she is now part of the pop band Sugababes.
