Interesting Facts about Eurovision Song Contest
Among the most popular entries to the Eurovision Song contest have included such wonderful titles as 'Boom Bang-a Bang' (UK, 1969), 'A-Ba-Ni-Ba' (Israel, 1978), 'Bana Bana' (Turkey, 1989) and 'Bourn Badaborun' (Monaco, 1967).
Poland's most impressive debut was in 1994, when Edyta Gorniak finished in 2nd place,with To Nie Ja,
Ireland won Eurovision Song Contest 7 times, while Luxembourg, France and the United Kingdom trailed with 5 wins; Sweden and the Netherlands won 4 times.
There were only three women conductors at the Eurovision Song Contest. Nurit Nirsch in 1973 and 1978 for the Israeli entries; Monica Dominique in 1973 for the Swedish entry and Anita KERR in 1985 for the Swiss entry.
