It's been quite a lovely week away in the tranquil remote rural prettiness of (uh) Uckfield. Sure, the internet connection has been quite ghastly so I haven't quite managed to do some of the almost pre-prepared blogs I had planned on (Gravitonas and Darin, your time is coming!). And sure, the tranquil calm of a Pimms & lemonade on the verandah overlooking a gorgeous woodland meadow has been interrupted by a fox pouncing on the pheasants (not cocks as I erroneously identified the pretty little flockers on twitter) and creating hideous carnage. And yeah, watching The Blair Witch Project literally in the middle of nowhere with the trees outside creating weird shadows inside probably wasn't the greatest idea in the world. But all in all, it's been quite a heavenly week. My mind often goes to weird places when I'm in the wilderness and I sort of decided that a brilliant Comic Relief single for 2011 would be the reformation of Bananarama with Lanananeenanoonoo on the song embedded above. How festive and fabulous would that be? Can someone please PLEASE make this happen?! For now though, because I am totally out of the pop music loop, why not check out my fave songs of the week (yes, I'm devastated at the rumours that a #2 smash on my chart for Same Difference isn't parlaying into the same success in the top 40 UK charts :/ Though yay for the news at Scandipop) and you can tell me what i've missed (or just read this post at PosterGirl)....

Yesterday was obviously lucky night for Oskar Linnros and Tokio Hotel, both managed to won in two categories being logicaly joined by Robyn and Kent as most respectable artists who didn't fall out of the spot last months. Lars Winnerbäck took his sixth Rockbjörnen, this time as Best male artist and victory in new category Best festival was given to Peace & Love. The Ark, Erik Saade, Tove Styrke and Hoffmaestro performed at the stage and as you can see on the picture above star guests had a lot of fun that was able to watch during awards.

So here is the best Swedish song of the year due to Rockbjörnen's opinion. Well deserved, so we send congratulations to Oskar!

Linda Sundblad is very active this year after relase of her long-awaited album "Manifest", she took part in Love Stockholm 2010 festival, was invited as host and script-writer of Rockbjörnen 2010, worked as songwriter (for example you can find her song "Good Stuff" on Elin Lanto's album "Love Made Me Do It") and currently she's preparing for trip to Afghanistan where she will be performing for Swedish soldiers (Linda has been already tripping to Kosovo before and decided that she has to make it again), now she's going through tough training and you can see a lot of photos on her site.
If you remember year before Linda was featured on 2 tracks of Rasmus Faber's album "Where We Belong" - "Everything Is Alright" and "Always". Guys keep working together and we get new track "Stay With Me" made by Rasmus and Japanese violinist Chieko Kinbara that's going to be released on Rasmus' new compillation "So Far 3", it's pleasant chill-out summerish track with beautiful strings part, latin percussion and relaxing mood.

As well you can download new lounge-salsa version of Linda's "To All My Girls" made by Rasmus with Thomas Eby on her site for free.

Last year Linda performed with Rasmus at Billboard Live in Tokyo both their previous tracks "Everything Is Alright" and "Always", very nice live versions that I really recommend you.

It's my first September post and I'd like to devote it one of the greatest artists of Sweden - September and I have a reason for it, I'd say whole bunch of reasons!
Very soon Swedish dancing queen Petra "September" Marklund is gonna break a pause that she took after completely crazy period starting from her international breakthrough with single "Satellites" in 2006. After this she has managed to release her third fantastic album "Dancing Shoes", to make her biggest world-wide blast with single "Cry For You", to release multiple compilations of her hits around the world and to bring loads of gigs and appearances almost everywhere.
This October Petra is back with brand new single! But besides it we're gonna get Petra on TV in new show on TV4 where she should live together with another musicians - Petter, Christer Sandelin, Barbro "Lill-Babs" Svensson, Tomas Di Leva, Per "Plura" Jonsson, Lasse Berghagen around week and make some covers for hits of each other, Petra has already chosen songs and promises to show completely new side of September. Season will include around 8 episodes, it will be shot in September and shown approximately in October. And this is not the last news. Petra has become model of cosmetics company FACE Stockholm and you can already see a banner with her above. What a gorgeous look, isn't it?
It's actually great that Petra's coming back to Sweden and we have a chance to see her in some local events and shows, if you didn't see her performance in last season of Så Ska Det Låta you can do it right now, it's really joyful!
