"Human Frontier" - NEO.

A relatively new name at this year's Melodifestivalen (although previously mentioned in dispatches from other pop bloggers), he was more than a little reminiscent of Mika, both visually and vocally.

Yes it's cheesy, with equally cheesy space-referencing lyrics, but it's the kind of effortless uptempo pop which Swedish people can do in their sleep, and which was very welcome in a Melodifestivalen which (with obvious exceptions) fell short of everyone's expectations.

A place in the final was not to be, though, as NEO fell at the Andra Chansen hurdle to folkie fave Kalle Moraeus, before he himself lost out in the next duel (and a final place) to Jessica Andersson.
