"Hey Soul Sister" - Train.

Despite possessing some of the worst lyrics to grace any pop song in recent years, it's remarkable that the comeback hit by Train managed to make it into any chart, never mind this one. However, tapping into the same appeal as Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours", the song became a massive worldwide hit and, as usual, broke through in the European charts long before it hit the UK...but it eventually charted here and got lots of airplay, thus disqualifying it from my 'great lost European hit of the year' category.

And there's a big European connection here: the song was co-written by none other than Norwegian pop legend, Espen Lind who has now established himself as a big international songwriter of note.

I still like this song, but those lyrics are still rubbish though.
