Oh it's so very very hard to objectively review a song that:
Kylie wrote herself
Kylie wrote herself about cancer
Kylie is performing on her tour so there is no decent audio of it (yet)
However, despite all that and despite the fact that the rubbishy audio quality makes it sound like a re-recording of the brilliant Light Years (song not album), it was actually Peter of Robinson Popjustice that finally got me to check out this song, and actually it is rather lovely. Positive lyrics turn this into a real fighting song about not being beaten, not giving up or giving in. And it's not a maudlin ballad either (not that Cosmic is - that is one elegant beautiful tune!) but rather a perky little pop tune that would be rather well placed on an X- Special Edition. Frankly, if i were managing Kylie at this point, The One would have a brilliant video, followed by releasing Cosmic and then Ruffle My Feathers/White Diamond just in time for Christmas and a release of the tour dvd. Feel free to hire me...(yes that's a bit hypocritical after being a bit dubious of the Attitude article!! I'm complex!)
