BWO ~ Save My Pride:
Out of all my 2004 finds that I adored that year (Maroon5, Scissor Sisters, Killers, Keane), BWO rank second favourite behind M5 and only very marginally ahead of the Scissters. This is a cover of a hidden Alcazar album track, that was promised would be completely different to the original. Sadly it’s not. However, it’s another stomping BWO classic that ranks up there with 16 Tons Of Hardware and Chariots Of Fire (currently getting lots of video play in England) – and I like it. A lot. It does raise an interesting question however – it’s such a balancing act for musical groups. How can you move away from your sound so that you don’t alienate fans but don’t come across as sounding too samey? Much like Girls Aloud, BWO are churning out AMAZING tunes, but they aren’t cutting edge anymore. They are just very very good.
