What a hectic week it's been. But in a good way. After so much crap happening recently, it's been nice to have some normality back in life and some positive things happen. Dazpecs and I decided to have a formal date night last night - it wasn't particularly flash or fancy (Dazpecs ~ "Don't knock yourself out there Paul with that description!") but it was just lovely and very us and it worked. We had a nice supper, watched The Birdcage and got drunk on bad wine. Romance on a budget is actually quite brilliant. Snuggles! We are off to Gran Canaria next Sunday for a week - i think we both need some rest and relaxation :) Here is everything I would have blogged more about this week if I weren't so busy...

  • It has been extremely remiss of me not to post oodles and oodles on the new Maroon 5/Rihanna video. Skip Take A Bow and Goodnight Goodnight and go straight to this little doozy. Rihanna looks quite elegant, and Adam... well how RAR does he look in the numerous suits he is wearing. Oh to be the zipper on his pants... Anyway as I've said before, the remix totally invigorates the song and it's almost like having a new M5 tune. Woo hoo!
  • Chess the Musical concert with Idina Menzel and Josh Groban was very good indeed. I promise I'll get that review together sometime soon. Olga ~ I think the intimacy and intensity of the production bewitched me, cos I temporarily was momentarily sort of attracted to Josh. Yikes!
  • Take That are going back into the studio. Quite rightly so too. After the dirgey new tunes NKOTB have pumped out, it would be criminal for the That not to do a follow up to Beautiful World. Please please please put together a brillo version of Mark's Believe In The Boogie. Ta. (Yes, I'm sure they read my blog regularly :P )

  • Oh! The much maligned Jonas Bros have tidied their hair up a bit and laid off the cravats! Well, almost. As the prepare for the third most anticipated tween musical of the summer (Camp Rock, behind HSM3 and of course Spectacular), they have done some decent live performances recently at MTV Brazil. Their cover of Take On Me isn't a patch on A1s but it's perky enough...
  • And in bands-the-jonas-bros-aspire-to-be-like news, The Click Five have released a rather ace tour version of their album Modern Minds and Past Times. It has some new (?) tunes on and some rather good acoustic versions of Mary Jane and The Reason Why. Well worth checking out. And McFly have a new album out on their own record label in July. Now this is leap around the room whooping type excitement level news...
  • Sigh. Silly Girls Aloud. Still undecided on a fourth single, they instead keep recording crappy Kit Kat ads and draw attention to a track they don't want Annie to use on her new album. Yes, that will stop it gaining notoriety and prevent it leaking all over the internet in 2 seconds flat... good move girls!
  • Sigh. Ben Barnes. Kirsty and I adore. I think i have blogged a bit obsessively about him in my History Boys posts... Digital Spy have been drooling over him too in their ever excellent GaySpy feature. I'm very eager to go and see Prince Caspian as soon as it is finally released over here in June...
  • Alanis hasn't leaked this much since her wedding night with Ryan Reynolds ~ songs from her upcoming album are appearing all over the internet if you look hard enough. They are typical Alanis - it seems she has forgotten how to be particularly innovative, but i'm sure i'll enjoy her new set anyway...
  • While Madonna and Kylie tours are all over the news this week, inexplicably a world seems to have forgotten that Deborah Gibson is currently rocking the Harrahs Casino in, uh, Atlantic City with her Pop Goes Broadway show. That's all very nice, but how about a new album luv?

BEST IN BLOG

  • Adem is back on the air! I'll get a splinter from Adem any time. Now with added Ben!
  • And talking of Ben, he has totally replaced any need i had for Pink Is The New Blog - his celebrity history lessons reach genius levels this week with his renaming of Nick Cannon. Aces
  • Dluv gets all pissy with facebook. I concur.
  • Bobbsy sets the impossible task of creating a swedish supergroup. Damn, was EMD not enough? :P
  • Oh no :( ModFab is shutting up shop. Well not exactly, but closing the doors slightly. I will daily fabulosity greatly. Still the rss feeds stay open for sporadic genius...
  • Yuri is a believer. Now if I can talk him into an Osmonds reunion concert, i'd fly over tomorrow...
  • Enrique is back and making up for the enormous amount of slightly rubbish tracks on Insomniatic.Or was that Aly and AJ? I'm confused. Poppostergirl (who i swear is like the nice version of Gossip Girl such is her closely guarded anonimity :P ) isn't however, and has all the rumblings you need on how brill this track is...
  • Who cares if Dan and Yuri are going to Madonna (I do actually. I'm green with envy at the bloggy bro-mance going on there :P ) when Heidi is going to be my beard. Woo!
  • XO reviews Donna and in brilliant XO fashion manages to place the album in a cultural context while perfectly describing the tunes. He is the coffee table book of blogs...
  • Troy reminds us all how A1 managed to do 3 distinct sounds across 3 albums. Take note Alanis...
  • DanUK quite accurately pinpoints the genius of one of only 3 possibly good new shows coming to televisions this "fall"...
  • Digital Technique is back! Again! And again! For good? Fingers crossed :)
  • I didn't win the Club Dildo competition either D'Luv :( Perhaps cos I forgot to enter. Oops. Anyway Mike picked some great winners, though personally I would have gone with undisco_me just for their number one suggestion. Ho ho, etc...
