I came across The Hoosiers because Napster was bombarding my inbox with recommendations about them and I just checked them out in case the former free music file sharer was correct. And they bleedin’ were! Debut single Worried About Ray is a perky little guitar led tune with an enticing vocal and intruiging lyrics. Worse Case Scenario ups the lethargic tempo of the single and buzzes with energy and pop potential. I am just loving his voice going into falsetto too. Just amazing. And be sure to hunt around for their quite unique cover of We Didn’t Start The Fire. Brilliant – and the only band ever to lead into it with Chim Chim Cheree… Quite the stunning find!

Is potentially quite the RAR hottie. And I have to give all credit to D’Luv for pointing him out to me. Cheers buddy! But underneath that slightly fetching exterior beats the heart of a solid musician who has a clear understanding of how to put together a solid album of melodic modern rock learning tracks. “You Can Hold Me Down” (why thankyou) details the giddy highs of love and the despairing lows. Not a particularly innovative subject but one that has kept musicians in guitar strings for many years. What makes this album work so well is that the track order works in an extremely effective way with different styles of songs being mixed up so that you don’t get bored of a particular style. Lead single Fairfax (the name of my high school fact fans!) has some lovely piano in as well quite pleasant guitar work. The guitar really shines when it is used acoustically on tracks like Trouble and Maybe Tonight. It’s Slipping Out that is the stand out track - `Just sing along to you're favorite song, takes you back to where you come from, time and place you can't erase when innocence was you're only shame.' And every track has that same air to it... the same catchy-ness to it... the same amazing pull within the lyrics. Lovely.
