SPECTACULAR! PREVIEW (Click here for video!)
Thanks to the fine folks of Popstar Magazine, the first preview of the Spectacular crew (and therefore Simon Curtis) singing and dancing in their movie has hit the internet. And an exciting glorious affair it is. While there is not enough Simon Curtis in it for my liking, it's all very exciting. If Smash Hits magazine were still going, they would analyse the brilliant bits of it, so i shall "borrow" that formula and examine the clip very carefully!

- In the first ten seconds it is learnt that the movie will have MOVES! And MUSIC! Which is really an essential commodity in a musical. Still, it's good to get that out of the way straight away with a bit of flip your body dance thing going on...
- At 11 seconds it's the first peekaboo of Simon Curtis, and man he does not look happy.
- At 15 seconds Gerard Nolan Funk tells Simon Curtis (who has sideburns people and is dressed in an unattractive tracksuit, which unless you are into chav culture, is not very aujourd hui) that he wants to be a rock star. Simon does not look happy. (EDIT: Bugger - that's not Simon Curtis, I knew he wouldn't be seen dead in that trackie!)
- Between twenty and thirty seconds, there are key lessons - there are lots of embarrassing costumes. Tammin is rather perky. The school band is called Spectacular. I wonder if that is how the movie got it's name? :P
- This is apparently the big musical finale - at 32 seconds! Don't blink :P
- 38 seconds - SIMON IS SMILING!! Perhaps it is because he is punching Gerard Nolan Funk? Or that he is a more casual attire than the trackie? (BUGGER AGAIN - on closer inspection not simon again. Still, whoever it is, the dude should be happy he is not in that dreadful trackie!)
- 41 seconds - moral lessons. Some random guy who looks like Simon but isn't is telling Gerard Nolan Funk that he dreamed about this his whole life. I feel a pep talk coming on. Pep talks in musicals? ESSENTIAL! It makes you feel good when the underdogs achieve :)
- 46-50 seconds, there are some rather groovy looking graphics and a song that already I can't stop singing - "you give me something to believe in". I like inspirational songs I do.
- And here it is - the starring bit. 59 seconds into the vid clip, Simon is dressed in a lovely gold lame suit, doing some cheeserific and therefore magnificent dance moves and the sexy deep voice over man says "And Simon Curtis"! On the screen. In a movie! Singing! Dancing! In gold! I may vapourise with excitement.
- It's coming in 2009 and there are jazz hands in the air. BUR-RILLIANT.
