  • The always excellent Digital Spy has a brillo new feature called b-side of the week. It's already showcased the Girls Aloud megamix and Pink's ace When We're Through. This week it's all about the flip of Lily Allen's brillo comeback effort The Fear. Provactively entitled "FagHag" (not an expression i'm fond of) it effortlessly outcharms the odious I Kissed A Girl and does what Lily does best - plinky plonky music with witty lyrics. I could go on about it more, but DS have written everything I wanted to :)
  • I have done a lo-oo-oo-t of driving this week. Which means I have listened to a lot of groovy music. I found a random mix cd from early 2007 with some of the unsigned pop acts I liked back then. It included Simon Curtis (Flashback), Discotheque (Unsung Hero, Finders Keepers), Beyond (A Little Bit of Ooh), Lockdown (Poison), Digital (Get Your Kit Off, San FranDisco), Pacific Avenue (Don't Look Back) and Switch22 (Back To The Dancefloor). Not only was there a lot of great pop there, it made me realise that on average it takes about 3 years for acts I like to become famous - Simon is now Spectacular, Dean and Ian from Digital are on the brink of solo success, and woohoo, Discotheque are back!
  • Shockingly, I only heard Bouncey's If I Were A Boy for the first time this weekend. I was right to ignore it. Possibly the most patronising song ever. No wonder Jay-Z came out of retirement if he had to sit home listening to that stereotyping clap trap all day long. Shudder.
  • I quite like bottoms. I do not like smoking. So I am happy that smoking is of course banned from pubs in the UK. However, I do now realise that they did cover up some major bottom atrocities that obviously take place in pubs. I was sitting down with some friends in Eden, at eye level with a firm and pert botty. Only then this botty then released an appalling emission of suffocating gas - just as I opened my mouth to laugh at something. Not only did this gas have a taste - A TASTE - it's odour practically knocked me out. My contact lens came out my right eye it was watering so much. Shocking.
  • Lost is back! And the first two episodes were so freaking confusing that I felt i needed a notepad and the laptop open at lostikipedia to keep up with everything. In other words, much like Twin Peaks, it's thought provoking stuff, brilliantly bonkers and must see tv. Not watched new Skins yet...
  • For some reason I have been bopping along to the ultimate boyband song That Thing You Do (by The Wonders from the Tom Hanks film of the same name) all week. It laid the template for the ever ace McFly, and perhaps if V had been granted a second album, they could've covered this along to go along side their marvelous Chills In The Evening...
  • Finally - blimey! It wasn't like this when Kylie did it! The new agent provocateur ad is proper filthy. Yes it's all very sexy when your lover surprises you by tying you to the chair and blindfolding you, but let me tell you personally that the excitement fizzles when you get a pair of dirty boxers shoved in your pie hole! Valentines day commercials already? Blimey!
