Interesting Facts about Eurovision Song Contest

The 1969 Eurovison entry by the UK was a song called "Boom Bang-a-Bang". It was sung by Luluk
who sang the smash hit, "To Sir, With Love". She also starred in the film of the same name.

Denmark was the host of the largest Eurovision concert in 2001 were about 38,000 people packed into a football stadium.

The smallest town to have hosted the Eurovision was in 1993, in Millstreet, in County Cork, Ireland. Population: 1,500. The venue as Green Glens Arena with a capacity for 8,000 people.

I'm sure many Eurovision fans are extremly happy because of the announcement that Italy is back in the contest after a break of 13 years. The Italians have been concentrating on their San Remo festival and Jalisse came forth in Dublin 1997 they have not bothered about Eurovision. 
Jag är övertygad om att många Eurovision fans jublar gladeligen sedan det blivit känt att Italien återvänder till Eurovision Song Contest efter 13 års frånvaro. Italienarna har koncentrerat sig på sin San Remo festival ända sedan Jalisse blev fyra i Dublin 1997.

According to EBU the dialogue with RAI has been going on for a while and as Jørgen Franck, TV Director ad interim says: "We consider their renewed interest a great compliment, and are eager to show the Italian people how the contest devolved over the past 13 years. I am sure they will be positively surprised!"
Enligt EBU har dialogen med Italienska RAI pågått en längre tid. Jørgen Franck, TV Director ad interim, säger att det italienska folket kommer att bli förvånade över hur mycket tävlingen utvecklats under dessa 13 år.  

I look forward hearing a lot of Italian songs in the Euro-club in Düsseldorf. One of my top-5 is Umberto Tozzi and Raf's “Gente Di Mare”. It didn't win but it was the winner for me in 1987.
Jag ser fram emot att höra en massa Italienska schlagers på Euro-klubben i Düsseldorf. En av mina topp-5 är Umberto Tozzi och Raf's “Gente Di Mare”. Den vann inte men är helt klart en vinnare för mig 1987.
