Same Difference Video - like I wasn't going to expostulate all over my keyboard for it!
Posted by ai at 9:09 AMOh. My. God. After what has turned out to be a travesty of a work day (culminating in me getting my head shaved at lunch time which only accentuates my enormous ears, makes me look like an egg and has shocked - SHOCKED - me as to how far back my hairline is), I get home to the new Same Difference video writhing around on youtube. I nearly wee'd I tells ya with excitement. Then i saw the reflection of my bald bonce in the screen and started weeping again. However, in the spirit of a magnificent debut video from the Diff, I thought i'd highlight the best bits...
- Prior to ten seconds ~ I would so so so buy a car from Jesse's automart if Same Difference were singing against the railings like a hooker and her pimp. They don't look particularly environmentally friendly cars though do they? I'd plump for a Toyota Prius if I were you. It's proper carbon footprint friendly...
- Prior to ten seconds ~ I really like Sarah's dress, but not in a "ooo get me dragging up on a Saturday night" sort of way. That's not for me, but i make no judgements if you like that sort of shenanighan. Talking of haircuts, Sean's doesn't really do much does it. Still "props" to him for braving the non-styled style! His jacket's very purple isn't it? Purple is so this year...
- 30 seconds ~ a chequered flag waves in the wind. This is bound to signify that the song is revving up and about to get all upbeat and perky. I am bound to be right with this observation. I did English Literature A-Level. I am all about the details.
- 46 seconds ~ ooo look, all their friends have come trotting around the corner to encourage them to dance in the car lot. Do it sean and sarah! Do it! (Peer pressure is ace isn't it?)
- 50 seconds + ~ Yay! Lots of running and skipping to the dance routine, which is on a par with the best Steps dance routine ever (Chain Reaction fact fans). There is lots of fist pumping and a bit of jumping up and down. Learning this routine religiously will help my cardio workout in the mornings, people. Same Difference ladies and gentlemen - doing their bit for childhood obesity.
- 1m13 seconds ~ The We R One bit of the dance routine is a cross between One For Sorrow and Phones 4 U advert. In other words utterly bonkersosity.
- 1m20 seconds ~ for about fifteen seconds Sarah re-enacts the girl bit of Summer Loving from Grease only with slightly more conviction that Stockard Channing ever managed! Hurrah!
- 1m43 seconds ~ Sean's bit is less strut along the bleachers, more hang out with your west end wendy stage school buddies. My male friends at school never let me sing and dance along with them. God I was so like this...
- 2m23 seconds ~ after the full not interrupted by annoying editing version of the dance routine, including Sean and Sarah doing a bit of swing each other around barn dancing, there is a nice bit of middle 8 with sean smiling a lot. He has quite a nice smile, with some lovely smile lines. I hope he doesn't botox them out when he is older. I am a big fan of smile lines.
- 2m36 seconds ~ ooo serious Sean close up...
- 2m40 seconds ~ ooo serious Sarah close up (has that braid been there the whole time? Rewinds. Yes it has! Incredible!)
- 2m51 seconds ~ the bit popjustice classes as really funny. They are lifted into the air! The sun is glistening off the camera. It's all a bit too much for the senses and so literal that you can't help but chuckle. Works for them though!
- From there til the end of the song ~ more dance routines! Jesse won't be happy that those kids are jumping all over his nicely polished cars now! Sheesh!
So basically it is utterly brilliant. Can Same Difference do no wrong? I think you will find that currently the answer to that question is "no". BTW here are my same difference single review and album preview if you haven't read them already. Now i'm off to find a hat to warm my balding skull.
(BONUS YOUTUBE FEATURE!)
In preparing for the holiday to Florida next week (flying Sat 22nd fact fans!), I found these old youtube diaries from last time around. God i am mortifying on camera...
